  • Between conferences, my ministry is really about connection—lots of connecting and working with friends! I get to walk alongside people in our community, support leaders, encourage relationships, and help create spaces where people can experience genuine friendship and belonging. Much of this ministry happens in ordinary conversations and relationships throughout the year, and I love getting to share life with people as we follow Jesus together.

  • Staff silliness! There is a lot of meaningful and sometimes challenging work happening behind the scenes at Revoice, but there is also a lot of laughter. We genuinely enjoy one another. That friendship and joy are part of what sustains us as a team and, in many ways, reflect the kind of community we hope to help cultivate throughout Revoice.

  • I’m especially thinking about people who are new to our community—or who don’t even know about Revoice yet. There are still so many people looking for a place where they can be known, loved, and supported as they seek to faithfully follow Jesus. I want to help them discover that they aren’t alone and that there is a community ready to welcome them.

  • What makes this work deeply meaningful to me is seeing God reconnect the Church with her gifted queer children. I get to witness people discover that their gifts, stories, and lives matter to the body of Christ. Seeing relationships restored, friendships formed, and people finding meaningful ways to belong and serve in the Church is an incredible privilege.

  • Ongoing support keeps me connected to dear siblings who share this life and calling. Monthly partnership gives me the ability to keep showing up—not just for a conference or a particular event, but throughout the year.

Will lead the development of Revoice’s discipleship programs, support local and global ministry growth, and increase spiritual formation into everything we do.

  • Evaluating the last Conference, planning the Conferences of R27 and already R28. Rallying and recruiting an amazing Conference team, Teamwork makes the dream work. 
    Working on a new program for Revoice (LGBTQ+/SSA  discipleship pathway) and a open-source library with other organizations.

  • Lots of conversations with people to come to an idea or concept.
    Prayer as the engine of our movement

  • I'm on the road a lot, co-leading two chapters and supporting two other chapters in the Greater Los Angeles Area. Did you know that the Greater LA Area has over 18 million people and is the 2nd largest metropolitan area in the country? Again and again, I meet LGBTQ/SSA Christians who are discovering Revoice for the first time.

  • So much! I'm regularly meeting up with LGBTQ/SSA people in our local community to provide encouragement, support, and prayer. I'm also building a network of relationships with churches, pastors, and other ministers in Los Angeles. These relationships have blessed our community in many ways.

  • I'm hoping to serve local churches in various ways and invite them to continue growing by attending Revoice27 in Long Beach.

  • For some people, it takes a tremendous amount of courage to talk out loud about their sexuality. Shame thrives in silence. It's my greatest honor to receive people's stories and combat shame through conversation.

  • Monthly partnership enables me to take a closeted LGBTQ/SSA person out for coffee, drive 70 miles to support our Pomona Chapter, and have a meal with a member of our local community who is struggling.

With a West Coast focus, Janelle provides in-person pastoral care to individuals in our community, fosters prayer efforts at the conference and throughout the year, and helps create safe and healing spaces for everyone.

  • Yes. Some Revoice staff members raise their own financial support. You can choose to support Revoice’s General Fund or one of our support-raised staff members. Either way, you become part of Chorus.

  • Absolutely. You can increase, decrease, pause, or cancel your recurring gift at any time through your donor portal. If you need assistance, our team is happy to help.
